The president-elect of the prestigious debating society has been ousted from office after failing a vote of confidence that followed his disputed social media posts about Charlie Kirk.
The vote against the student leader achieved the required two-thirds threshold to remove him from office, according to an statement from the society.
The dispute erupted after Mr Abaraonye reportedly posted messages on online platforms that seemed to welcome the killing of Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot while speaking at a college in the United States.
According to sources, one Instagram post reportedly stated "Charlie Kirk got shot loool" - using an extended form of the phrase 'lol'.
The president-elect is also reported to have written in a WhatsApp chat with other members appearing to express approval of the event.
The vote of confidence was conducted over the weekend, with results announced on this week.
Official notices showed that 1,228 ballots were cast supporting no confidence, while 501 were against the motion.
The notice confirmed that the future president was deemed to have stepped down in following the Oxford Union's rules.
Voting operations were temporarily halted early on Monday after the election official was reportedly subjected to "interference, threats, and inappropriate behavior" from several representatives.
In a response, the student claimed that the vote tally had been stopped because election administrators believed "no valid outcome could be reached as a result of process errors".
His response categorically refuted that any person acting for the student had participated in intimidating or disruptive behavior.
The president-elect stated that extremely serious issues had been referred to the governing body and that he remained the elected leader.
His comment added that George was "proud and thankful to have the support of significantly more than half of students at Oxford" who supported a "safe election and resist attempts to subvert democracy".
Critics have argued that any decision to keep him would "demonstrate internationally that the society has prioritized politics over principles".
On recently, Kirk's former chief of staff read out an open letter to the Oxford Union on The Charlie Kirk Show broadcast.
The message criticized the society of becoming a institution where "student leaders publicly celebrate the assassination of a ideological rival".
The communication warned that if the student were to remain in post, Kirk's allies would "directly reach out to every American political speaker who has ever spoken at the society and advise them against future participation".
The society had previously criticized the student's remarks after the activist's killing and confirmed that complaints filed against him had been forwarded for disciplinary proceedings.
The student leader had been one of several students to debate with Kirk at the union in May.
