The Madrid giants winger Vinicius Jr has apologised to fans for his reaction when substituted in Sunday's heated Clasico clash victory.

He was substituted in the 72nd minute and showed his annoyance by walking immediately to the dressing room.

Vinicius later returned to the sidelines and, following his team's 2-1 victory, tried to confront the opposition's youngster Yamal during unpleasant final whistle incidents.

"Today I want to apologise to all the Madridistas for my response when I was replaced in the derby," he wrote on his account.

"At times emotion takes over me because I constantly desire to win and support my club. My competitive character stems from the passion I have for this institution and each thing it stands for."

He signed for Madrid from his former club in recent years for a significant fee and has scored triple figures in numerous matches.

But his career in the Spanish capital is far from certain with speculation in lately indicating that Los Blancos would think about letting the young star leave if they got a suitable offer.

When he was substituted on Sunday, cameras from broadcaster the service recorded him saying: "Again me! I'm leaving the team! It's preferable if I go, I'm leaving."
