In numerous discussions, fans keep sounding the death bells for the Xbox brand. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities have started writing on PS5 topics for the first time. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft continues to plan to attract subscribers with compelling titles on its premier subscription.
A pair of titles you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Starting January 13th, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up typical Ubisoft design with a space-faring criminal escapade. Another big get is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "the perfect cocktail of terror and combat."
But even the smaller games set to join the catalog are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, becomes available next week — and you should try it even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year may draw you in remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the makers of Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
Ultimately, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, nor are they first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service alone. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of older titles you may have skipped and new-ish games that failed to receive the spotlight they warranted upon launch — rendering them excellent choices to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Hope you're ready to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
