The Prince of Wales Plans to Join COP30 Climate Summit in Brazil

The Prince of Wales will represent the COP30 climate summit in South America during November, according to the royal household.

Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday night at a gathering ahead of the climate summit, which is planned for in the Amazonian city of Belém.

The royal pair were present at the museum gathering, marking an noteworthy combined presence at a pre-COP30 gathering arranged together with the British authorities.

Climate Leadership Commitment

The King has been a long-time champion of protecting nature - and the Prince of Wales has inherited the mission, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be held in Brazil before the climate conference.

Palace insiders have characterized William's involvement at the next COP as taking on an significant responsibility in "environmental negotiations".

Previous Activities

The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the royal vehicle, were welcomed participants featuring environmentalists, scientists, climate change campaigners, diplomats and government officials.

This involvement included speaking together with French leader Macron of France and other global statesmen at the Ocean Finance Summit in the Principality of Monaco earlier this year.

Earthshot Awards Connection

The UN meeting will dovetail with the prince's own sustainability recognition program, which will conclude in the Brazilian city the eve of he attends the COP summit on the sixth of November.
